| Ĉar la respondoj de kelkaj el niaj kolegoj al la cirkulero dekunua montras al mi, ke la vera senco de tiu ĉi cirkulero povas esti malkomprenata, mi pensas, ke estas necese aldoni la jenajn klarigojn. | Because the replies of a few of our colleagues to the eleventh circular show me that the true meaning of this circular can be misunderstood, I think that it is necessary to add the following explanations. |
| 1o La loko, en kiu mi raportas la opiniojn de 8 el niaj kolegoj, kiuj opinias, ke ni devas danki la Delegacian Komitaton pro ĝiaj proponoj de reformo kaj ilin akcepti senŝanceliĝe, enhavas pri la Bulonja Deklaracio la jenan frazon: "Tiu bedaŭrindega baro kontraŭ ĉiu natura evolucio de la lingvo." Mi miras, ke mi bezonas diri, ke tiu frazo esprimas nur la raportatan opinion de tiuj ĉi ok kolegoj, kaj tute ne la mian. | 1) The place in which I report the opinions of 8 ef our colleagues, who believe that we must thank the Delegation Committee for its reform proposals and except them without hesitation, contains the following sentence about the Declaration of Boulogne: "That regrettable barrier against every natural evolution of the language." I am astonished that I need to say that this sentence expresses only the reported opinion of these eight colleagues, not my own at all. |
| 2o La loko, en kiu mi raportas la opinion de tiuj el niaj kolegoj, kiuj malaprobas ĉiun proponon de reformoj kiel kontraŭan al la Bulonja Deklaracio, esprimos pli ĝuste kaj pli plene ilian opinion, se post la frazo "kiu ligas... nerompeble ĉiujn Esperantistojn... k.t.p.", oni aldonos "kaj cetere ne malhelpas sed pli vere certigas la regulan evolucion de la lingvo." | 2) The place in which I report the opinion of those of our colleagues who disapprove every proposal of reforms as contrary to the Declaration of Boulogne will express their opinion more correctly and more fully if after the sentence "which unbreakably links... all Esperantists... etc.", we add "and in addition does not hinder but more truly assures the regular evolution of the language." |
| Fine mi devas, je mia propra nomo, sciigi la Lingvan Komitaton pri la jenaj punktoj. | Finally I must, in my own name, inform the Language Committee of the following points. |
| 1o La proponoj faritaj de mi al Dro Zamenhof kiel konkludo de mia raporto prezentas nur mian personan opinion, kiun ŝajnis al mi pravigi, en la momento, kiam mi faris ilin, la fakto ke la respondoj de multaj Komitatanoj al cirkulero 7a, -- egale inter la partianoj kiel, inter la kontraŭuloj de reformoj, -- atestis pri deziro de plua informiĝo kaj plua esplorado. Sekve tiuj proponoj neniel devigas nian karan Majstron, kaj li havas en ili nenian ajn respondecon. | 1) The proposals made by me to Dr. Zamenhof as a conclusion to my report present only my own personal opinion, which seemed justified to me at the moment when I made them by the fact that the replies of many Committee members to circular 7, -- whether from partisans or opponents of reforms -- testified to a desire for further information and further study. Consequently those proposals are in no way binding upon our dear Master, and he has no responsibility for them. |
| 2o Cetere ili neniel antaŭjuĝas la finan solvon de la afero, kiu jam ne malfruos eliri de la korespondado nun interŝanĝita inter la Prezidanto de la Konstanta Komisio de la D.K. kaj mi; sed ili pruvos antaŭ la publiko, ke ni penis porti, ĝis la lastaj limoj, la deziron de kunpaciĝo kaj interkonsento pro konsidero al la persono de nia eminenta kunbatalinto Pro Ostwald. Tiamaniere neniu povos kulpigi nin ke ni agis abrupte kaj pasie, se ni fine rifuzos oferi la honoron kaj riski la estontecon de Esperanto. | 2) Furthermore they in no way prejudge the final solution of the matter, which will no longer be delayed in emerging from the correspondence that has now been exchanged between the President of the Permanent Commission of the Delegation Committee and myself; but they will prove to the public that we have taken pains to carry, to the ultimate limits, the desire for reaching a peaceful agreement on account of consideration for the person of our eminent former co-fighter Prof. Ostwald. In that way nobody will be able to blame us for acting abruptly and passionately, if in the end we refuse to sacrifice the honor and risk the future of Esperanto. |
